McSweeney's has launched its own Apple application, Small Chair.  'a weekly sampler from all branches of the McSweeney's family.' One week you might receive a story from the upcoming Quarterly the next week an interview from the Believer, the next a short film from a future Wholphin. Early contributors will include the illustrious Spike Jonze, Wells Tower, Chris Ware, and Jonathan Ames.  And to sweeten the deal the content will not be available online.  A smart move indeed, as more and more publishing goes online, and publicity battles for real live paper books are fought in cyberspace.  We love this!  We want one!  If there are any kindly iPhone developers out there looking for a new challenge, get in touch...
