Ihor Sevcenko, Byzantine and Slavic Scholar, Dies at 87
Mr. Sevcenko was a leading scholar of Byzantine and Slavic history and literature who persuaded George Orwell to collaborate with him on a Ukrainian translation of “Animal Farm” for distribution to refugees.
